Peskov compared the anti-Russian actions of the American ambassadors to the racketeering of the early 1990s.
American ambassadors in various countries are now threatening companies with an interest in the Russian economy with almost a “death court”. In fact, such actions are comparable to racketeering, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said on Sunday on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
He noted that American ambassadors work in all countries, who are akin to avid racketeers of the early 1990s.
“Here are the American ambassadors, like these inveterate racketeers, go around these companies and threaten them with a death court if someone shows interest in the Russian economy,” the Kremlin spokesman said, stressing that all this is “replaceable and recoverable.”
