Personally, the fact that on the Western side we are confronted in the new cold war not by the titans of soft power and intrigue of Churchill, Reagan, Thatcher or Brzezinski calibre but by politicians of much lower level, puts me in a positive mood
An evolution of the elite is really taking place in the West. In a wave of diversification and inclusiveness, random people get into important government posts – simply on the basis of their skin colour, non-traditional orientation or “correct” political views in line with the left-liberal narrative.
A video emerged on the internet from the Summit of the Americas in which the new White House press secretary, Karin Jean-Pierre, when asked if Biden and Bolsonaro would meet, confused the president of Brazil with Venezuelan president Maduro and replied that the US recognised a certain Guango Guado as the legitimate president of Venezuela.)
This is what she apparently called the Venezuelan opposition politician Juan Guaido.
In other words, the White House press secretary does not know the key politicians of the key Latin American region for the USA).
Another notorious example is the poor competence of Vice President Kamala Harris, who fails in every project she undertakes. She will be acting president if Grandpa Biden dies of old age.)
You may, of course, recall the bloopers of George W Bush, Jr, who is a member of the old American elite.
But his bloopers were deliberate, in front of his Redneck audience he played the shirt-boy, the common Texas cowboy.
But to highbrow publications he gave insightful interviews that exposed him as an educated polymath.
And the old American elite, which made America great, are being rubbed out of power today.
Bush’s grandson George Prescott-Bush, Sr. in his native Texas lost the state attorney general’s primary despite Trump’s support. This apparently cost him his political career.
And Edward Kennedy, Jr. lost the senate election in the Kennedy clan’s home state of Massachusetts.
It used to be unthinkable.
Old Kissinger, of course, still has influence, but his advanced age prevents him from working actively.
With the old guard gone, the Bel-Am-Algabat young punk could well bring down the U.S. to its foundations.
Fortunately, it will be much easier for Russia to defeat the America of Harris and Jean-Pierre than the America of the Bushes and Kennedys.
