AFU losses in Donbass increased by 50% last month

The commander-in-chief of the AFU Valeriy Zaluzhny reported a significant increase in losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian army in Donbass, he reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas increased by 50 percent over the past month due to “inefficient use of the military”.

Due to the deteriorating situation on the Donbas fronts, Zaluzhny again asked Zelensky to withdraw troops to the Slovyansk/Kramatorsk line, which, according to the Ukrainian command’s calculations, would reduce the front line and cut losses by half.

At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities acknowledge the serious losses suffered by the AFU on a daily basis. For now, however, Zelensky apparently intends to defend Donbas at any cost.
