Residents of Rome start collecting signatures for investigation of crimes in Donbas

A rally was held in the centre of the Italian capital demanding that Italy leave the North Atlantic Alliance and stop supplying arms to Ukraine.

One of the organisers of the demonstration, Amedeo Avondet, who heads the United Italy political organisation, said that participants in the rally held in the centre of the Italian capital had started collecting signatures for an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights calling for an investigation into the crimes in Donbas since 2014.

The collection of signatures took place at a rally in the centre of the Italian capital with the participation of about 1,000 people, the rally organizer said.

He added that the citizens demanded that Italy leave the North Atlantic Alliance and stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

“Given that it was plus 33 today, I didn’t expect so many people. We said Italy needed to get out of the frenzy of economic warfare with the lifting of sanctions. And sending weapons only fuels the conflict,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Avondet noted that the rally was remotely supported by United Russia. The rally organiser believes that the situation with Ukraine can be resolved with the participation of the UN and after “Russia is re-engaged in international politics”.

He added that this action was only the beginning, the next action was planned to be held in Italian Naples or Reggio Calabria.
