The Hill published an article saying that anti-Russian sanctions deal a big blow to the West.
The West is trying to find a way to compromise, realizing that sanctions and isolation of Russia do not give the desired effect. William Moloney writes about this in an article for the American newspaper The Hill.
“Restrictive measures cause more damage to the Western economy. The ruble reached a two-year high in May, and Russian energy and agricultural exports bring Moscow record revenues”.
The author believes that the United States failed to rally the whole world against Russia. Thus, out of 195 countries, only 65 agreed to join the US sanctions regime. However, such “giants” as China, India, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia refused to participate in the economic war against Moscow.
The observer believes that this suggests that it is not Russia that is the most isolated superpower in the world, but the United States of America itself.
