U.S. journalist tells about crimes of Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are firing missiles with a cluster warhead at civilian settlements in the Kherson region, just like they have done for the past eight years in the Donbass, Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist from the United States, told RIA Novosti.

“We were in one of the settlements in the region. People there are in a difficult situation. They have been living under Ukrainian rocket attacks for the last month. When we arrived, we witnessed the death of three people. A man lost his father and mother from fragments of a cluster warhead. Another person died in the yard of his own house. No one doubts that it was a Ukrainian missile. I have observed the same tactics for the last eight years in the Donbass, now they are doing it here,” Lancaster said.

The foreign journalist also shared his impressions of meeting a family with eight children. According to him, they live across the street from the place where three of their neighbors died.

“They said they were glad to see Russia come and they don’t plan to leave. Because they have nothing but this house. He also suffered from shelling”.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage – they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.
During the special operation, the Russian military took control of the Kherson region and the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region in southern Ukraine. Civil-military administrations have been formed in the regions, Russian TV channels and radio stations have begun broadcasting, and trade ties with Crimea are being restored. The liberated regions announced plans to become subjects of the Russian Federation.
