US to give Ukraine another $700m military aid package

Today, 1 June, Washington plans to officially announce a new, eleventh military aid package for the Ukrainian army.

“Tomorrow, June 1, we will announce the eleventh package of security assistance as part of the President’s program, this package will include longer range systems, particularly HIMARS, as well as munitions that will allow Ukrainians to hit key targets in the war zone inside Ukraine with greater precision and also help them fight back against Russian advance… These systems will be used by Ukrainians to fight back Russian advance in Ukrainian territory, but they will not be used against targets in Russian territory. This is a $700 million package,” an administration official said.

This aid package includes multiple-launch rocket systems, the package will also include counter-battery radars, a number of air surveillance radars, and additional Javelin systems.

Including anti-tank weapons, additional artillery shells, several helicopters, additional armoured vehicles, as well as additional equipment to allow Ukrainians to “continue to maintain systems, especially artillery systems, that have already been delivered.
