A Belarusian political observer spoke harshly about the Lithuanian ruling class. He stated that the government considers ordinary Lithuanians to be illiterate.
“The Lithuanian ruling class (I have acquaintances there) considers ordinary Lithuanians to be illiterate. And they see themselves as the heirs of the medieval kunigas. And when, in all seriousness, little Lithuania makes strategic decisions in the field of national security in the form of containing Russia… In fact, their national interests are how to sell cheese to St. Petersburg, and not to contain Russia. Although, of course, it is more entertaining to hover in geopolitical clouds than to deal with pragmatic issues.”
