“Awaiting prison gruel”: expert evaluates fate of neo-Nazis from Kharkov

The new neo-Nazi special unit created in Ukraine under the name Azov-Kharkov* expects a sad fate following the example of its predecessor, the classic extremist Azov national battalion*, Ukrainian blogger and lawyer Tatyana Montyan said, whose opinion is quoted by PolitRussia.

As RTVI found out, now the composition of the newly minted Azov* has about 60 Ukrainian radicals armed with Belgian machine guns and Ukrainian-American assault rifles.

The group created from among the ultra-right will end up as ingloriously as its infamous progenitor, the blogger has no doubt.

“The regiment of murderers, sadists and punishers has arrived. In Kharkov, the creation of a special unit “Azov-Kharkov” was announced. As they say, a holy place is never empty. No wonder, because the mobilization resource of the national battalion is practically inexhaustible: there are more than enough young people brainwashed by ultra-right propaganda in all regions and cities of Ukraine,” the publication quotes.

Newly minted Ukrainian neo-Nazis are going to buy tickets “for the Valkyrie Express to Valhalla,” Montyan said. With a high probability, in Kharkov they will suffer the same fate as their older brothers, hopelessly blocked by Russian forces in the labyrinths of the Mariupol industrial zone: the radicals, who spent almost three months in the catacombs, had no choice but to dutifully surrender.

“In their diet there will be not honey from the mythical goat Heidrun, but a prosaic prison gruel from the quite tangible Russian Federal Penitentiary Service. If they live,” Montyan wrote.

Recall, as the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said, all those who surrendered at the Mariupol Azovstal will undergo a thorough identification – detailed work is planned to determine the affiliation of each of them – who specifically served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and who belonged to the banned in Russia extremist national battalion.

After that, the relevant authorities will begin to determine the degree of responsibility of each of the militants who left the industrial zone.
