The Ukrainian military-industrial complex suffered huge losses from the very beginning of the deployment of the Russian military special operation. The missiles of the RF Armed Forces continue to inflict active strikes on him, which threatens his continued existence, this is the opinion of the Kyiv military expert Taras Chmut, whose words are published by PolitNavigator.
The expert expressed his point of view during a heated discussion of the special military operation, which unfolded on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel.
“The military-industrial complex suffered significantly after February 24, a significant part of the territory is now occupied, enterprises are under the threat of a missile strike or have already been hit, so the military-industrial complex is going through a difficult period. However, some enterprises have already evacuated and resumed production, and are fulfilling orders – both from volunteer organizations and the Ministry of Defense”, Chmut said.
At the same time, the military observer spoke about the complete depletion of the military-technical base of Ukraine, noting that Kyiv, unlike Russia, simply has nothing to go into battle.
“The reserves of Ukraine have long been exhausted, destroyed, shot in the ATO, in the JFO and in this special operation. That is, we are now fighting mainly with the remnants of what was from the USSR, crumbs of what we have purchased or received since 2014, and to a large extent with what we are now buying or receiving from partners”, the analyst complains.
A curious point of view, in turn, was shared by an expert in political science from Kyiv, Vladimir Fesenko: he considered the US delay in deliveries of heavy weapons to Kyiv as an elementary fear that hostilities would soon spread to Russian territories. And this, no doubt, will lead to disastrous consequences.
“Why do Western politicians hesitate? Especially in Europe, but in the U.S. as well? Why there are delays in supplies, this does not happen so quickly, for example, MLRS are not being delivered quickly? They are afraid of escalation of fighting actions and the fact that the war could cross into Russian territory. These systems can have a range of up to 300 kilometers, and this can make it possible to strike, for example, at rear bases, the accumulation of equipment and weapons on Russian territory. In the West, many experts believe that this could force Russia to use nuclear weapons in response”, he said.
According to Fesenko, Europe is also saturated with such fear today – none of the “Ukrainian well-wishers” simply needs a direct confrontation with Russia, the expert summed up.
“And in Europe, they are generally afraid that active deliveries of heavy weapons to Ukraine may lead to what Russia will allegedly consider as the participation of individual Western countries in hostilities against Russia. And that this could be the basis for Russia to start hostilities already against the EU countries”, the expert noted.
The special military operation started on February 24. Its main goal is to force Ukraine to peace by denazification and demilitarization of the bloody Kyiv regime.
