The authorities of Melitopol qualified the explosion that occurred in the city center as a terrorist attack planned by the Kyiv leadership. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the local military-civilian administration.
The acting mayor of Melitopol, Galina Danilchenko, stressed that the target of the incident was not military personnel or officials, but ordinary people. The city believes that Kyiv is “haunted” by the fact that the city can live in peace.
A powerful explosion in the center of Melitopol, located in the Zaporozhye region, occurred on the morning of May 30. This was announced by Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the region.
According to him, at 7:40 (coincides with Moscow time), windows and walls shook in the houses of the townspeople. The consequences of the explosion were felt by the residents of the streets of Bohdan Khmelnitsky, Sergey Kirov and Petro Doroshenko. Black puffs of smoke have also been reported.

According to the city authorities, three people were injured in the explosion, including two volunteers who provided humanitarian assistance in Melitopol and the Melitopol region – a 28-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man. It is noted that on the morning of May 30, they distributed targeted assistance to residents of the central districts of the city.
Both victims were hospitalized in one of the city hospitals, their condition is assessed by doctors as stable, nothing threatens their lives.
Versions of what happened
Initially, it was assumed that the cause of the explosion was a parked car stuffed with explosives. Later, the RIA Novosti agency, citing its own source, reported that an explosive device was planted in a street hatch.
The explosion occurred when a car with volunteers was passing by, the source said.
According to the administration of Melitopol, the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) was behind the organization of the terrorist attack.
“I am sure that anti-terrorist security measures should be strengthened in the region in order to prevent Ukrainian militants from further intimidating the population,” said Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration.
Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia took up the investigation of the explosion. They intend to identify those involved in the crime in order to bring them to justice.
