The Spanish Foreign Ministry has said that NATO is not going to offer Ukraine membership of the alliance at the moment.
NATO has no plans at the moment to offer Ukraine membership of the Alliance. This was stated on Friday by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez.
Asked whether a proposal for Ukraine’s membership of NATO would be made, the minister said.” “No [relevant questions] are being raised at the moment. “Ukraine is not asking for this at the moment,” he said at an event organised by the Vanguard newspaper. Alvarez reiterated that NATO is a defence organisation.
“The food security crisis is already here, it’s already starting to be felt in many countries,” the foreign minister said. – The food security crisis will last longer than the war.
He also expressed confidence that the issue will take centre stage at the UN General Assembly this September. In addition, Alvarez suggested that the conflict over Ukraine could drag on for a long time.

He specified that Spain is trying to offer “technical ideas because there are logistical difficulties now to be able” to get the food out.
