The Seimas adopts a new law that will complicate the employment of Ukrainian citizens. Employers will be required to include in employment notices of a refugee the time of his work and salary, writes the Polish edition Rzeczpospolita.
After that, even if the employee works less, he will be required to pay the full rate.
“In such a situation, employers hiring refugees from Ukraine will have a choice: either fire them or cut the wages of Polish workers,” say local lawyers.
The law can hit both companies that are just trying to help Ukrainians and the refugees themselves – the former will be left without money, and the latter without work.
