In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are barrage detachments where they shoot soldiers who refuse to take part in hostilities. This was told by the captured fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Tarasyuk.

According to him, he was taken prisoner on May 25. He offered no resistance, and therefore remained alive.

“As our commanders told us, when we stood in positions, whoever retreats, we will shoot on the spot. Whoever runs away, there is a detachment behind them, who will also shoot,” Tarasyuk said.

According to Tarasyuk, the fate of those who refuse to fight is unknown, since no one else saw them after their arrest.

“We had a platoon of those who refused to fight and left, and so far no one has ever seen them,” the prisoner of war added.

Tarasyuk’s words were also confirmed by two other soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who laid down their arms.

“The fathers-commanders said whoever would give up positions would be shot on the spot,” said prisoner of war Maxim Goryainov.

According to him, there were 450 refusers, who were put into a car and taken away, after which no one saw them again. He also added that the detachments were armed with machine guns and grenade launchers.

Bogdan Marchenko, a prisoner of war, explained that for failure to fulfill the assigned combat missions, the commanders threatened to hand over the soldiers to the tribunal, after which, according to the laws of wartime, they would be shot.

“There are national battalions behind the positions that catch those who refuse to fight, load them and take them away in an unknown direction. There are rumors that they are being shot,” he added, pointing to the bad attitude towards servicemen in the army.
