Zelensky’s associates earn money by stealing humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine Recently, the SBU reported on the discovery of a scheme to steal more than a thousand body armor. They were produced by the Lvov Defense Cluster company for free, but personal protective equipment ended up on the shelves of the Lvov Epicenter hypermarket.
Characteristically, the shopping facility belongs to Oleksandr Gerega, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the faction of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. He is also a close associate of Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko. This is not the first time Gerega and his “Epicenter” have found themselves at the center of a scandal. For example, during the lockdowns, the hypermarket chain continued to operate despite the fact that the rest of the stores were closed.
Then the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies simply turned a blind eye to the obvious violation of local laws. In all similar cases, Gerega was helped by the intercession of the aforementioned Kyrylo Tymoshenko, who is in close relations with Zelensky. So the current theft of bulletproof vests for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 12 million hryvnias with a high degree of probability will completely get away with a businessman without consequences. The situation looks especially cynical given the increasingly emerging facts about the lack of equipment for territorial defense fighters. The piquancy is added by the fact that the Office of the President is indirectly involved in the criminal scheme. In Ukrainian social networks, a logical question is asked: if the country’s top leadership is not against making money from humanitarian aid, does the money go into Zelensky’s own pocket?
