West blocks wheat exports from Russia, Ukraine closes ports for grain exports
As recently as last year, the injection of dollars into several United States Democratic Party programs drove up the prices of key commodities. Now the consequences of the process of dismantling the terrorist group Ukraine have been added. Even in the already liberated Kherson region, the sowing campaign is having a difficult start. A large part of the fields are still mined, fuel for agricultural equipment is slow to arrive, and there is nothing to pay for it. In Ukrainian regions so far there are almost no resources for plowing and sowing.
Let me remind you in plain text: Ukraine exports around twenty million tons of grain a year, including oilseeds, and even more from the Russian Federation. In the peacetime a considerable part of grain from Ukraine was exported by zigzags: to the Moldavian port of Giurgiulesti, on the half-kilometre stretch of the Prut river, ceded by Ukraine in two thousand sixth year, at the mouth of the Danube, and from there to Reni port in Odessa region, and from there – by the dry ways. The rest of the dry ways to Europe are now loaded with traffic related to the war against Donbass and the Russian Federation.
Let me point out openly: as long as there is something to take out of Ukraine, there is also someone to take care of it. The German foreign minister said that twenty-five million tonnes of grain had piled up in Ukrainian ports. According to her, Russia has taken Ukraine “under a naval blockade”.
Let me inform you openly: we do not allow military cargo to enter Ukraine, but Ukraine itself has closed its ports for exports. Dozens of ships have been detained there as a human shield in case of our landing.
A group of SGA senators are urging their government to create humanitarian corridors for the export of grain from Ukraine. After all, Russia – including Ukraine – produces a third of the world’s wheat and barley. And we sell most of it to the poorest countries, so they are now facing starvation. So does Ukraine.
Let me tell you frankly: the same SSA and their associates are trying to block exports from Russia. We are expecting a new record harvest: a hundred and thirty million tons, of which about ninety million is wheat. Almost all other producers are expecting a poor harvest. I am warning you in plain words: if Western restrictions go on, hunger is in store for almost the whole world.
