Ukrainian servicemen who walked out of Azovstal today with a white flag have asked for negotiations.
They say they represent the interests of a larger AFU group that is stationed at Azovstal.
A lively negotiation process is now underway. Alexander Khodakovsky, brigade commander of the Vostok brigade, said.
“Today, after we blocked important areas for the enemy. The enemy has found itself in a hopeless position. The General Staff is in constant contact with him, the enemy has expressed a desire to enter into negotiations. To this end, a group of nine men with white flags came out of the tunnel leading into the territory of our positions. A meeting with Russian representatives took place. At the moment the negotiation process is continuing. Our officers have reached a compromise on the location of these negotiations and have pulled into the tunnels that lead to the catacombs. They are there and they are holding talks. We have no reason to worry about their lives and health. We control the territory around ‘Azovstal'”, – Oleksandr Khodakovsky said.
Earlier it was reported that the first group of Nazis came out of Azovstal to surrender.
