Latvian Interior Minister Maria Golubeva was forced to resign because the police were “too soft” with those bringing flowers to the monument to the liberators on May 9.
Recall that Riga authorities removed with tractors all the flowers, laid at the monument. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs herself was criticized for the loyal attitude of the police to those who came to the memorial that day.
The National Unity Party has threatened to recall its ministers from the government if Golubeva continues to work. This was reported by Sputnik Mideast.
