Luxury cars are being imported to Ukraine under the guise of military aid

Luxury cars continue to be massively imported to Ukraine under the guise of military aid, said the first deputy head of the country’s customs service Alexander Shchutsky.

Since the beginning of the Russian special operation, the Ukrainian authorities have canceled the tax on the import of cars. Since then, according to Shchutsky, about 80,000 cars have been brought into the country for personal use, of which 30% are premium.

He added that these supplies create kilometer-long traffic jams at the border, preventing the delivery of humanitarian and military supplies, as well as fuel.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mustafa Nayem said that European partners were outraged by the volume of imports of the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class into the country “for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
