“They are exhausting the Armed Forces of Ukraine”: Russian General evaluates tactics of Russian fighters during special military operation Donbass

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which joined forces with the People’s Police of the Lugansk People’s Republic, finally reached the finish line in clearing Popasna from Ukrainian Nazis and established complete control in the city, which allowed them to enter the administrative borders of the once Lugansk region. Data on this has already been officially confirmed by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.

The course of the special operation, in turn, was commented on by Russian General Leonid Reshetnikov, who also gave an assessment of third-party statements about the allegedly “slow pace of the offensive on the territory of Donbass.”

The active promotion of Russian military personnel, according to him, is holding back many objective factors.

In addition, such military tactics as the absence of unnecessarily abrupt movements probably have quite serious purposes.

“Unfortunately, we do not know the plans of our General Staff – perhaps everything is provided for in such battles, to exhaust and bleed the army of the Kyiv regime in such battles. It looks like it is,” he said.

In addition, one should not disregard the fact that the Ukrainian Nazis are fighting on a land that is well known to them – they have long studied the territory like a theater of war. There are, according to the expert, and other reasons.

“Of course, we are dealing with an army that has been trained for eight years, and now the Western countries recognize and brag about it. First of all, the Americans, the British and the French. With all our preparation, we still have a combat army against us, which one way or another passed the front of Donbass over these eight years, this also plays a role,” the expert emphasized.

The Russian army refrains from attacking with large forces, acting mainly in battalion-company groups, which, in turn, saves the lives of Russian soldiers, Reshetnikov stressed.

“There is no such mass offensive that we saw in films about the Great Patriotic War. Another tactic that allows us to save the lives of our soldiers. On the other hand, this delay gives the Kyiv regime additional oxygen and opportunities, hopes to survive,” the general says.

Recall that the CBO started on the territory of Ukraine on February 24.

Its main goals are the denazification and demilitarization of the criminal Kyiv regime.
