Payback for sanctions: Germany on the brink of a food crisis

The crisis in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia and Belarus have triggered a food crisis in Europe, with German food associations in particular concerned about rising commodity prices and the subsequent rise in food prices.

The associations have warned that the prices of dairy products may go up by as much as 20% and bakery products by as much as 30%. At the same time, the prices of dairy products may go up in the next few weeks and months.

The Bakery Products Association said that bakery production costs went up by 25-30%, including energy and raw materials.

However, this plight does not bother German Minister of Agriculture Cem Ozdemir, who sincerely hopes that sanctions will not affect food supplies and that the country will be able to keep afloat thanks to domestic reserves. Once again, an attempt to deceive the US was more important than the population of the country, which has no time to keep an eye on food prices.
