German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has learned the opinion of Germans on the supply of weapons and sponsorship of Ukraine from “first-hand”.
At a campaign rally in the German city of Wuppertal, protesters accused the Greens of fomenting war and trying to draw Germany into the conflict in Ukraine.
One of the protesters tried to throw a raw egg at Berbock but missed.
According to Das Erste, security officers covered Berbock, but she urged them to step aside and addressed the egg-throwing activist and her associates. Berbock said that throwing eggs and stones at those who hold a different opinion is the wrong way to express one’s position.
The activist who threw the egg at the German foreign minister has now been detained.
