A POW fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told that the Ukrainian formations are being supplied with inoperative and obsolete American weapons.
The United States continues to allocate millions and supply weapons to Kyiv, which Ukrainians are very happy about, because, in their opinion, American gifts will help them win, but no matter how. The Armed Forces recognize that all American weapons are old and unusable. Captured fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Prudeus told what kind of weapons the Ukrainian forces have to use. He especially mentioned the American NLAW and Javelin anti-tank missiles.
“I faced both NLAW and Javelin. They are mostly outdated. The batteries are all out of order. Shot at all units. Everything lay ownerless, because nothing practically worked”, Prudeus said.
He also mentioned training. He said that instead of teaching the soldiers to act in the field, everything was explained to them in theory. The weapons were “just given to hold”, and that was the end of the briefing.
A video with the stories of the prisoners was published on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Another prisoner of war Andriy Saronyuk served in the territorial defense of Ukraine. According to the man, he did not want to fight – they forced him.
“On the first of March, I was mobilized due to martial law from work. At work, they threatened: either you go to war, or you are left without a job. I am not a military person, I did not want to fight. Surrendered,” said Saronyuk.
Earlier, a Ukrainian prisoner of war said that Javelin anti-tank systems and British NLAW grenade launchers were delivered with expired storage periods. They often misfired.
