Return of memory. Remains of soldiers killed during the Great Patriotic War reburied in Melitopol district

In the village of Mordvinovka 40 remains of Soviet soldiers were buried.

With the arrival of Russian soldiers in Melitopol, the city has revived, and its residents can wear St. George’s ribbons and honour the memory of their heroes. In the area of Mordvinovka village of Melitopol district at the Memorial of Glory the remains of 40 soldiers, who died during the liberation of the town after breaking through the German defence line “Wotan” on October 17, 1943, were solemnly consigned to the ground.

Thanks to the actions of the Ministry of Defence, the identity of one of the soldiers has already been established. It is Sartakov Alexander Gavrilovich, 1925 year of birth, the native of Miassky area of Chelyabinsk region. He had a note with him, in which in case he was killed he asked to inform his mother, Ustinya Gorina, about his death. The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation is searching for the soldier’s relatives.
