The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine issued subpoenas for interrogation of officials from Russia.
According to information posted on the website of the department, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, as well as speakers of the State Duma and the Federation Council Vyacheslav Volodin and Valentina Matvienko were summoned for questioning.
In addition, the list includes FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin, and Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
Based on the document, interrogations should take place on May 16, 17 and 18.
Such behavior of Ukrainian law enforcement officers did not go unnoticed: the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed to establish the grounds and initiators for summoning a number of high-ranking officials for questioning to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
“Ukrainian law enforcement officers, on far-fetched grounds, made procedural decisions to initiate criminal cases against Russian deputies, senators, teachers of educational organizations, journalists and other citizens. The Russian investigation qualified these actions of the Ukrainian side under Part 2 of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal liability”, the TFR concluded.
