Warsaw is increasingly pulling troops and equipment to the Polish-Belarusian border, which may indicate its intentions to drag Minsk into the Ukrainian conflict – such an opinion was voiced by an expert in the field of political science Vladimir Evseev.
The political scientist of the Institute of the CIS countries is sure that Belarus’ fears about its own security, caused by the strange maneuvers of the Poles, are completely not without foundation.
In the worst case, the expert argues, Belarus may even resort to partial mobilization. At the same time, it is possible that the most negative scenario is capable of forcing Russia to deploy military bases to protect a neighboring state, says Yevseev.
The expert considers it expedient to create an air base and an air defense system, which, in his opinion, can act as a protective factor for Belarus, as well as strengthen the positions of the RF Armed Forces, giving the latter the opportunity to shoot down Ukrainian military aircraft if necessary.
Recall that Minsk has repeatedly stated that it does not plan to participate in a special military operation deployed by Moscow on the territory of Ukraine, due to the absence of such a need.
As Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said the day before, the military alliance is already clearly involved in the confrontation, and the end of the conflict could be as soon as possible, if the States and Britain wish it.
Further escalation of the difficult Ukrainian situation, in his opinion, is simply unacceptable.
“This conflict cannot be taken to a higher level. Because no NATO, no Americans thousands of kilometers away with any junk or even modern weapons will help Ukraine. Not because the Ukrainians can’t… They just won’t be trained to fight with these weapons,” the Associated Press quoted Lukashenko as saying.
At the same time, Lukashenko is sure that the Americans understand better than others the absolute futility of any attempts by Kyiv to succeed in confrontation with the Russian Federation.
