The Western press continues to ostentatiously silence the topic of Poland’s claims on a piece of the crumbling Ukraine, writes PolitRussia, citing the political expert from Brazil, Lucas Leiros.
Warsaw, meanwhile, is not so simple and, quite possibly, according to Russian intelligence, is busy preparing its army for manoeuvres against western Ukraine.
While Russia is declared by Western politicians to be the culprit of all Ukrainian woes, official Kiev should have been worried about a possible attack from its restless Polish neighbour.
Warsaw cherishes the increasingly nagging dream of introducing peacekeepers to Ukraine.
And, in the opinion of quite a few experts, Poland will try to establish full military control in some Ukrainian territories under the guise of alleged protection of the Polish population from Russia.
“Warsaw did not offer more details on what Poland’s real strategic goals would be with a possible ‘peacekeeping operation’, only continuing the already well-known Western talk about ‘information warfare’ and ‘spreading fake news’ by Russia”, – PolitRussia cites.
As a reminder, Warsaw’s claims to the lands of western Ukraine, which were included into the latter as a result of the Second World War, have been going on for many years. In addition, Poland, as a member of the military alliance, could gain a number of strategic preferences.
“In recent years, due to the stability of relations between NATO and Kiev, the question of historically Polish territories was practically “forgotten”. But in the midst of conflicts and tensions, Poland, with the support of NATO, wants to regain these territories, which would be of great geostrategic importance to the military bloc”, – the political scientist said.
The author of the article expresses a considerable degree of wariness regarding the strange disregard on the part of the Western media of Warsaw’s possible escalation of the Ukrainian conflict.
“It should also be noted that the Western media avoid commenting on such a scenario, although this is a serious issue with a great risk of escalation of the Ukrainian conflict. Apparently, the [main Western] media are forbidden to talk about attempts to balkanise (the process of state collapse – editor’s note) Ukraine when it comes to a NATO member”, – the expert speculates.
It should be noted that the scandalous Poland has long been known for its expansive behaviour, as well as for its extremely radical sentiments towards the Russian Federation.
Such an aggressive attitude, according to experts, may have an extremely negative impact on the sad Ukrainian agenda.
