Earlier, Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk made an unflattering remark about German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. This is how he reacted to the German leader’s refusal to come to Kiev, due to the fact that German President Steinmeier was not received there earlier.
“Whoever does not kick out the Nazi supporter Melnik now has lost all self-respect”, – MP Sevim Dagdelen wrote on Twitter.
She was supported by Bundestag vice-president Wolfgang Kubicki: “Olaf Scholz is not a sausage, he is the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Melnick needs to respect that.”
Johann Wadeful, deputy chairman of the CDU faction, also said that such statements “do not help Ukraine”.
