A former Aidar fighter* said that marauders from the battalion plundered everything that was possible in the Donbass
Members of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion “Aidar”* during the punitive operation in 2014 were engaged in mass looting, taking out everything they could, Vitaly Bashtannik, a former militant of “Aidar”*, who was detained and testifies to the Russian security forces, told RIA Novosti. According to Bashtannik, in 2014 the “Aidarovites”* robbed the boarding house.
“Cars were driving, even with trailers, loaded with refrigerators, washing machines. From there they took out everything that was possible”, said the former fighter.
“In Georgievka, there was a store near the road, it was plundered. There was a grocery store and an industrial one nearby. Both the one and the other – they carried everything that was possible”, added Bashtannik.
The scope of looting by the “Aidarovites”* then reached such an extent that the Kyiv regime was forced to pay attention to it: in 2016, the main military prosecutor’s office of Ukraine detained the chief of staff of “Aidar”* Valentyn Likholit. He was accused of robberies and assaults in the area of the punitive operation in Donbass in 2014-2015. Later, the Kyiv Court of Appeal released Likholit on bail of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.
