The Ukrainian troops shelled Gorlovka again, according to the Telegram channel of the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire regime.
The shelling of the village of the mine named after Gagarin was recorded at 7:40. The fire was fired from the direction of Novgorod.
“Eight shells with a caliber of 122 mm were fired,” the report says.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk. This is one of the largest settlements in the DPR – before the start of the conflict in the Donbass, the population numbered more than 250 thousand people, the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises are located there. Most often, Zaitsevo and the villages of the mines named after Gagarin and 6/7 are subjected to shelling.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stressed, its goal is “to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.”
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian military strikes only on military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, nothing threatens the civilian population. The main goal of the operation in the department was called the liberation of Donbass.
