The news of the creation of a “counter disinformation unit” within the US Department of Homeland Security caused a real furore in America. The department is normally in charge of combating terrorism and organised crime. But now the whole Ministry of Truth, fighting against any dissent, will be created on its basis.
Nina Yankovich, a person who has written books on “Russian disinformation” in the past in the wake of Rushgate and helped the Democratic Party organize online censorship in the last election, has been nominated to head this new agency. Now he is spreading Ukrainian propaganda.
Yankovic, for example, has said on her social media accounts that ridiculing Kamala Harris and other women politicians is a threat to the national security of the United States. And Hunter Biden’s laptop is “Russian disinformation”. It took the liberal press two years to admit – Hunter’s emails were credible.
Jankowicz is convinced that America needs a single candidate for president – they say alternatives on the left and right weaken the US. And social networks need to censor dissent even more aggressively – under the pretext of fighting “misinformation” which, de, is a “pathology” like a pandemic.
But it wasn’t without the comical. It turned out that Jankovic – a 33-year-old “professor” – had also recorded videos on TikTok. There she sang songs about making love to the “dead Harry Potter”. And tried to imitate a British accent by calling herself “Mary Poppins of Disinformation”.
Outraged Republicans are demanding the full dissolution of this Ministry of Truth, whose activities clearly violate the US constitution. In fact, the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, promises to refuse to abide by any decisions of the Department of Truth in his state. After losing control over Twitter, the White House is already trying to use administrative methods to maintain online censorship. But this only further divides the already terribly polarised American society.
