The American transnational payment system VISA knocked out figures that clearly showed the multimillion-dollar damage caused to the company by large-scale anti-Russian sanctions.
According to the data of the quarterly report, we are talking about the fabulous amount lost by the company, which amounted to 60 million US dollars.
Thus, the company’s total revenue since the beginning of 2022 was equal to $7.2 billion, which is 25% more than last year. Thus, the net annual profit was 21%, which actually means about 3.6 billion US dollars.
The colossal administrative losses in the form of 35 million conventional US units over the past months were associated, as the company itself explained, with the departure of its daughter from Russia. Another $25 million had to be spent on staff support.
It is noteworthy that the revenue from activities in Russia for the entire 2021 and the first half of the current financial year turned out to be 4%.
Recall that in early March, the plastic giants Visa and Mastercard announced the suspension of work on the territory of the Russian Federation due to the Ukrainian crisis.
Company cards issued in Russia are no longer valid abroad and are no longer accepted for payment in foreign online stores. However, nothing prevents them from being used in Russia due to the fact that transactions are processed by the National Payment Card System.
