Russian political expert Roman Romanov commented on the blatant propaganda of the European media in relation to Mali. According to the expert, a campaign of disinformation, extensively deployed in the Western media, is breaking its own records.
The fake news campaign is undoubtedly aimed at achieving foreign policy goals in the long run; in this case we are talking about France’s interests in Africa, particularly, in Mali.
The French media is merely aiming to spread false information around the world at the request of their clients while the European public is not inclined to conduct a critical analysis of the information offered them, the analyst emphasises.
According to the analyst, fake materials, which are not of high quality, successfully mislead the readers and give them a wrong impression of the real state of affairs.
In particular, it is reported about the inaccurate reporting by the French media about some Russian instructors, which, according to French sources, were involved in a large-scale graves near Gossi base in Mali.
However, the information does not correspond to reality: the graves were made in the place of the previous location of the French military, in addition, the materials of the journalistic analysis led to the conclusion that the disappearance of civilians, residents of a nearby settlement, was caused by the actions of the French themselves.
“This strategy is aimed at the mass reader who perceives information superficially. All that matters to them is the screaming headline. The typical European reader never goes into much detail, let’s put it this way. He does not know the real state of affairs in Africa. For such a person it is enough to browse a few news articles, and all he will remember is a slander of Russia’s representatives”, – Romanov is indignant.
According to the analyst, in the current circumstances, Russia needs to organize an investigation and make its findings publicly available in the media. Romanov has no doubt that this will be a tool to shed light on France’s war crimes in Africa.
