Paranoia is developing in Poland that Russia intends to use the country to destroy the North Atlantic alliance.
This assumption was made by the former head of the army counterintelligence Pyotr Pytel. The Polish general considers his country so important to NATO that even Russia can choose it as the main target. This is reported by the political magazine PolitExpert.
“The following theses are being implemented: the collapse of the Western system, the collapse of NATO,” Pytel said.
He sees some Russian agents in Poland who allegedly threaten Western allies and are trying to provoke the creation of some alternatives to the European Union.
Poland does not have special authority in NATO or the EU, and it is not at all clear why the general decided that if the Russian Federation really decides to break up these associations, his country will become the main target. To accomplish such a task, a more significant country will be needed, whose opinion in the block is at least somehow taken into account.
