West continues to buy Russian oil, hiding its origin

According to The Wall Street Journal, Russia’s oil exports to the EU rose to 1.6 million bpd in April, up from 1.3 million bpd in March.

Meanwhile, one of the most popular delivery methods is the use of vessels marked “destination unknown” – the tanker transports the oil to larger ships where it is mixed with other cargoes, the publication specifies.

In addition, so-called Latvian blend and Turkmen blend, which contain a lot of Russian oil, are offered on the market.

Britain’s Shell, the US ExxonMobil and Italy’s Eni told WSJ they transport oil from Kazakhstan through a Russian port.
