Warsaw wants to lift part of anti-Russian sanctions over rising agricultural prices

Poland has declared the necessity to lift sanctions against Russia in order to prevent the further growth of global prices of agricultural products.

A document of the Polish Institute of International Relations says that restrictions on exports of agricultural products from Russia and Ukraine, as well as rising energy and fertilizer costs have led to a rise in global food prices.

“Russia is the most important supplier of basic agricultural products for most countries and also the world’s largest producer and exporter of chemical fertilizers. A reduction in their availability in developing countries will lead to a decline in agricultural production in the coming months, perhaps even years”, – the analysts explain.
