The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation prevented a terrorist attack in Crimea. The attackers planned to blow up the railway tracks.
The crime was prepared by a supporter of the Islamic State* (IS*), RIA Novosti reports, citing the press service of the FSB. The terrorist worked on the orders of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion “Crimea”.
“In the city of Simferopol, a citizen of the Russian Federation, a supporter of the ITO “Islamic State” *, was detained, who was preparing to undermine the railways at the direction of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar Islamic volunteer battalion “Krym”, which takes part in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine,” they said in the secret service.
During a search of the detainee, they found two home-made explosives with a total weight of three kilograms, two electric detonators, a scheme for laying IEDs under a railway track, extremist literature, a flag and propaganda leaflets from the Crimea Battalion.
