Fighting the “human shield” tactics favored by Ukrainian militants is not possible, due to the unconditional desire of the Russian military to save the lives of the civilian population at any cost, military observer Viktor Litovkin said, commenting on the course of the special operation deployed on the territory of Ukraine.
Thus, the expert answered the question of whether the Russian military can openly resist the monstrous method of the Ukrainian Nazis, hiding behind the backs of the civilian population.
“This tactic involves the sacrifice of the civilian population. The Russian armed forces do not do this. Our military separates the militants and civilians”, the expert said.
The expert also spoke about the situation around Azovstal. Litovkin expressed his agreement with DPR representative Eduard Basurin, who refuted the information about the presence of thousands of civilians on the territory of the plant. Recall that the whole thing, according to available data, is in the Nazis, as well as significant foreign “bumps” stuck in the labyrinths of the plant.
“If we talk specifically about Azovstal, then it’s not about civilians, but about representatives of other states – foreign mercenaries, instructors, specialists, they are all called differently. The militants do not let them out and hide behind these people. Let’s see what happens next with this”, Litovkin said.
The assault on Azovstal is, according to the retired colonel, not an easy task, and certainly not a quick one. The militants settled there will resist to the last, the expert is sure. At the same time, the expert has no doubts about the successful liberation of the nine-story building of the plant by the Russian military, taking into account the presence of fifteen kilometers of various passages.
“The assault on Azovstal is not urgent. We can wait. But at the same time, it is necessary to control that they cannot get out of there suddenly. It is necessary to block all entrances, exits and air ducts. Then the problem will be solved faster,” Ukraina.ru quotes.
As for sabotage by the Ukrainian side in the form of shelling of the territory of the Russian Federation, Litovkin expects that the Russian Ministry of Defense will nevertheless realize its intention to strike back at Kiev decision points, the Ukrainian General Staff and the military department of a neighboring country, in case of repeated attacks.
