The White House in the United States has issued a coin with the image of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for fans of exotic numismatics. It turned out very symbolically: during his lifetime, but as if already in memory of him. Although Zelensky himself assessed at least 10 years more of war with Russia
Yes, yes, that’s what he personally said in an interview with CNN: Ukraine is capable of fighting Russia “10 years more”. Like, we sing a song to the madness of the brave, and we don’t feel sorry for anyone, neither ourselves, nor the country, nor people, nor – even more so! – “Russian occupiers”.
At the same time, Zelensky, however, said that he was ready for negotiations with Russia, but only “not on the basis of a Russian ultimatum.” And not by concessions to Ukrainian territories.
“We cannot give up our territory, but if we must find some kind of dialogue with Russia, if they are capable of it, then we are ready,” Zelensky said, still hinting that Crimea and the recently recognized DPR and LPR are the territories of Ukraine, and this is the only way to talk about them at the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations in Istanbul and display them in the peace treaty, which has already been dubbed by “Istanbul-1”. By analogy with the “Minsk agreements-2” (“Minsk-2”), which Ukraine refused to comply with for more than 7 years and used exclusively as a screen for massive preparations for a war against the LDPR.
But, on the other hand, all the recent actions and statements of Zelensky and his closest henchmen show that the ruling regime in Ukraine is doing everything to play for time as long as possible and stay in power as long as possible. But it is understandable: despite the blood, suffering and death of the fighting military and civilians, for the celestials on Bankova, the war is a profitable business. Plus, the war of attrition in Ukraine, Russia and Europe is an order from external curators and sponsors. Moreover, such that it is impossible to refuse it – they can be left to the mercy of fate by Russian investigators, they will not give security guarantees, and they will take away the “houses over the hill”.
And Zelensky, I repeat, is trying his best to play for time. While verbally recognizing that the sooner the negotiations are completed, the fewer people will die, the President of Ukraine deliberately puts forward conditions unacceptable to Russia.
For example, firstly, Zelensky said in a blue eye that he was ready to discuss with Russia the issue of refusing to join NATO and the status of Crimea only after hostilities cease and all Russian troops are withdrawn from Ukrainian territory.
“I believe that everything should be broken down into normal steps, slow, calm. There is an understanding. There are security guarantees, we want. There is a question of NATO, let’s talk. There is the issue of Crimea, we understand that when there are no shots, let’s move on and talk about it. This is a normal step. I think it’s normal. We will talk and we must decide. But after there are no shots and the equipment is withdrawn”, he said, as always confused and flowery.
At the same time, he perfectly understands that he has no grounds to dictate terms to Russia:
“You say, first a neutral status, and then we will withdraw the equipment. And we are talking about what status can we talk about, if there is equipment here, which of the security guarantors will sign this?” but he dictates – he has an order.
Secondly, Zelensky said that Kyiv would stop any negotiations with Russia, whether in Istanbul or anywhere else, if Ukrainian soldiers and neo-Nazis from the Azov Regiment*, already locked in a siege at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, were destroyed.
“Mariupol is maybe like ten Borodianka, and I want to say that the destruction of our military, our guys, will put an end to all negotiations,” he said.
And those surrounded will definitely be destroyed if once again they do not agree to surrender, as they were offered by the Russian troops and the DPR militias. Mariupol has already been completely cleared the “Ukrainian national revival in the Azov style”, and the last blow remains – for those who have settled in the plant.
And finally, thirdly, Zelensky said that the result of the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations in Istanbul should be two documents, not one. According to Zelensky, a peace treaty with Russia should consist of two documents: one on security guarantees for Kyiv and, of course, for regime officials, and the other on relations between Ukraine and Russia after the war.
“However, everyone does not quite see themselves at the table with Russia. For them, security guarantees for Ukraine are one issue, and agreements with the Russian Federation are another issue,” Zelensky said cryptically, without deciphering who these “everyone” who “do not quite see themselves at the table with Russia” are.
But this is already understandable – the United States and those of their allies in NATO, the EU and AUKUS, who today stuff Ukraine with weapons, demand from the war regime to the last drop of blood of the last Ukrainian. That is, as bequeathed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who recently personally came to Kyiv to encourage Zelensky on his way to with the feat of self-sacrifice in the name of Western interests.
And this behavior of Zelensky is not his last feature. He dragged out negotiations before, when he convinced everyone that in order to resolve the conflict against the backdrop of a Russian special operation, he would need more than one meeting with the Russian leadership, personally with President Vladimir Putin. Then when he tearfully begged for weapons from the West – “for the war against the aggressor.”
Now, by the way, for some reason, Zelensky no longer needs Putin, but a new “mulk” has appeared with weapons. Weapons are coming to Ukraine in an endless stream, and, it seems, in order to hide their volumes and suppliers, the Ukrainian side undertook to criticize the supplies. Like, there are a lot of weapons, but they are not what you need, outdated, illiquid, and so on. Adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak recently whined on his Twitter page:
“They are sending us the wrong weapons that we asked for, and they are taking too long to deliver… The weapons are needed now, not in a month.”
The trick here, I repeat, is clear: hide the range of supplies and create the illusion that Ukraine has nothing to fight with, and then strike at the fronts. After all, the Americans admitted that in recent months alone they have supplied weapons worth 2.5 billion dollars to Ukraine, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz convinced everyone that he wants to spend an additional 2 billion euros of the military budget on the purchase of new equipment to assist Ukraine. And out of 30 NATO member countries, 21 supplies death to Ukraine. Including tanks. For example, Mark Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, once said that the Americans, together with their allies, handed over only 60,000 anti-tank and 25,000 anti-aircraft systems to the Ukrainian military. Yes, junk, yes, a lot of illiquid assets, for which suppliers want to receive new “tsatski” in the form of compensation, but this is a weapon, and it kills.
But the Zelensky regime and he himself continue to hope maniacally. Everything is the same as before: that the West will supply them with weapons that Russia cannot resist, that international sanctions will finish Russia off, and that Russian society, exhausted under the “tyrannical rule of Putin”, will rise up in protests, overthrow the government, change the regime and return Crimea to Ukraine.
Well, what can I say? Everything has already been said many times. But the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin spoke last time on behalf of Russia in his Telegram channel:
“If Zelensky thinks about the citizens of Ukraine, he must immediately make the following decisions. First. Withdraw troops from the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Second. Fix on a contractual basis obligations to recognize Crimea and the non-bloc status of Ukraine, as well as to denazify and demilitarize the country. It won’t work any other way.”
