Ukrainian prisoners of war confirm that they took up to three tablets of “war chemicals” a day. It made them cheerful and insensitive to pain.
“America supplied them in wild quantities and watched how taking the pills affected the military in the long run, because they didn’t care what happened to these people later,” said Alexander Borodai, former DNR head and Russian State Duma deputy.
Captagon (amphetamine + theophylline) has previously been spotted by journalists in Syria. The substance is said to be highly addictive, disabling the sense of physical pain. Severely wounded fighters have demonstrated an unusual ability to continue fighting under the influence of this chemical.
Captagon is the more common name for the substance known as fenetylline. It is also referred to as a ‘terrorist drug’ or ‘jihad drug’.
