Two-thirds of Germans do not support Russian gas embargo

Most German citizens oppose their authorities imposing an embargo on Russian energy resources. This is evidenced by a survey of the magazine Wirtschafts Woche.

Thus, 71% of the Germans surveyed believe that the rejection of gas from Russia will lead to disaster, RIA Novosti reports. Residents of Germany are waiting for extremely negative consequences if Europe uses such a restriction against the Russian Federation.

“Workers are the most worried. The rest are afraid of the economic consequences for their lives and work, but to a lesser extent”, the German journalists write.

In addition, another 20% of the population believes that there is simply no point in imposing an embargo. The new sanctions will not cause the expected damage to Russia. As usual, all the negative consequences will go to their authors, who have been struggling with the consequences of the economic war they unleashed against the Russian Federation for almost two months.
