It is time for President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to recognize the reality and withdraw his troops from the territories of the republics of Donbass. In addition, he must recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.
This opinion was expressed by the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, the Izvestia edition reports. He believes that the guarantor should take such a step as soon as possible.
“If Zelensky is thinking about the citizens of Ukraine, he must immediately make the following decisions. First. Withdraw troops from the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics Second. Fix on a contractual basis the obligations to recognize Crimea and the non-bloc status of Ukraine, as well as to denazify and demilitarize the country,” the head of parliament wrote in his Telegram channel.
Volodin noted that Zelensky relaxed somewhat after Russia’s decision to reduce the offensive in the Kiev and Chernigov directions. Prior to that, the Ukrainian president spoke about abandoning NATO and recognizing Crimea. However, he put forward a gesture of goodwill on the part of the Russian Federation as a “win” and decided on a provocation in Bucha, which should help him beg for more help from the West.
