The German authorities are outraged by the behavior of the Kiev regime. In particular, the scandal arose against the background of the refusal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to include German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in the delegation that will arrive in the capital.
The head of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Friedrich Merz, told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) newspaper that he considers such a move “an insult with political and historical premises.” It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“I see what happened as an overly emotional reaction from the Ukrainian authorities, which does not help either side,” he said.
In addition, Merz expressed dissatisfaction with the work of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He noted that his words are at odds with actions. He is criticized even by associates, the head of the CDU said. At the same time, he wants to get clarity from him on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine. He also believes that Scholz should personally go to Kyiv.
