Russian Foreign MInistry says Ukraine uncontrollably distributed more than 25,000 weapons

To date, more than 25,000 firearms have been distributed uncontrollably to everyone in Ukraine, before the start of the special operation, more than 5 million weapons were in illegal circulation in the country, this increases the risks of terrorism both in the European region and beyond, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Oleg Syromolotov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“On March 9, 2022, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law allowing the use of weapons by all citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons. To date, more than 25,000 firearms have already been distributed to everyone without any control. from prisons by the Kiev authorities,” he said.

According to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, “even before the start of the special military operation, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, there were more than 5 million weapons in illegal circulation on the country’s black market.”

“Such a number of weapons and irregular armed formations, of course, increases the risks of extremism and terrorism both in the European region and beyond,” he said.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”

For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage – they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
