“For the first time in 14 years”: the West is shocked by the record cost of American gas

The cost of blue fuel in the United States is breaking records – the American gas price tag reached a critical level in November 2008.

The reason for the sharp renewal of the price maximum was largely the cold weather that unexpectedly covered the northern States and, according to tradition, required additional fuel.

Futures on the New York Stock Exchange climbed sharply in price, jumping 5.8% to $7.62 per million British thermal units (BTU).

The situation unsettled the gas workers, because at this time of the year the stocks are habitually replenished, however, due to the weather that confused all the maps, the fuel in the storage facilities rushed to disappear in a short time.

It is not surprising that the authorities are seriously worried about the upcoming heating season. Before it starts, they will face the difficult task of filling gas storage facilities as much as possible in the face of a serious shortage.
