A major German industrialist explained the futility of anti-Russian sanctions

The United States and the European Union have imposed unprecedented sanctions against Russia, but they have not had the desired effect.

The head of the German chemical company Leuchtstoffwerk Breitungen, Wolfgang Eisenberg, believes that this happened due to the fact that most of the world did not support them. He said this in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, the political magazine PolitExpert reports.

At the same time, he warned that gas and oil supplies from the Russian Federation should not be suspended. European industry and the well-being of EU citizens depend on Russian energy resources. In addition, the embargo will not force Russia to stop the special operation to denazify Ukraine and liberate Donbass.

“When gas supplies are stopped, we are threatened with the collapse of entire production chains with fatal economic and social consequences,” Eisenberg said.

Sanctions against the Russian Federation were introduced against the backdrop of the special operation in Ukraine. However, they failed to destroy the Russian financial system. Even Western economists believe that it completely repelled the sanctions blow.
