Kiev is going to completely abandon the purchase of gas from the EU through greater austerity.
Oleksiy Ryabchin, adviser to the head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, said.
“For the future we have to plan tougher measures to save gas and move to refuse to buy gas even from the European Union”, – he said on air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
Asked about Kiev’s purchases of Russian gas through European intermediaries in recent years, Ryabchyn said that such gas is no longer “Russian, but European” – but Kiev also intends to abandon it by introducing tough austerity measures.
