“The split will get worse”: Chinese diplomat spoke about Russia’s withdrawal from the UN Council

The exit of the Russian Federation from the UN Human Rights Council will come back to haunt the wave of disagreements in its ranks, Chinese diplomat Zhao Lijian has no doubts.

At the same time, he calls the approach to the development of the relevant resolution devoid of any transparency and clearly demonstrating political motivation.

“The process of preparing the relevant resolution was not open and transparent, there were no consultations with all member states and a wide exchange of views, as is usually the case, such an approach will only exacerbate the split of the member states, increase the contradictions between the parties and add fuel to the fire,” – emphasizes the diplomat.

Also, the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry focuses everyone’s attention on the fact that the suspension of Russia’s activities in the Council will not solve the Ukrainian issue and will in no way affect the decrease in the degree of tension between Kiev and Moscow.

Recall that the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the suspension of the activities of the Russian Federation in the Human Rights Council, referring to the special operation deployed by the Kremlin on the territory of neighboring Ukraine. In response to this decision, Russia announced the termination of powers in the HRC.

The main goals of the special military operation in Ukraine are the complete denazification and demilitarization of the bloody Kiev regime.
