Global Times: Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan must be hindered

While the crisis in Ukraine is still ongoing, the US should appease China in exchange for not increasing support for Russia.

However, the US is deliberately undertaking an offensive against China.

I suggest that the Chinese mainland take unprecedented action to ensure that Pelosi’s visit is not carried out properly. There are many options and I’m suggesting two here.

1. Announce that the airspace over Taiwan is closed on April 10 and a flight ban is in place. The PLA may deploy large numbers of military aircraft to fly around the island to enforce the ban.

2. PLOAC military planes can fly over the island of Taiwan on the day of Pelosi’s visit, either from west to east across the strait, or from Pelosi’s plane to the island, for which the PLOAC must be prepared for a full contingency.

If Taiwanese forces open fire on our warplanes, the PLA should shoot down Taiwanese planes or strike devastatingly at Taiwanese military bases that launch missiles.

Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan must be thwarted if the exercise of mainland Chinese sovereignty over Taiwan is to be taken one step further.

It will be a crisis and it will cause big waves. However, since the US and Taiwanese authorities are not afraid, we have nothing to be afraid of either. It is clear that the provocation of the United States and the island of Taiwan is the source of the crisis.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives is the third most powerful political figure in the United States. Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan would be a flagrant violation of the internationally recognized One China principle.

It should be noted that any serious countermeasures taken by the mainland do not mean the start of a full-scale war in the Taiwan Straits. We can also announce in advance the goals and plans of our operation.

Another thing is if the Taiwanese side takes irrational confrontational actions and causes the situation to spiral upward. But I don’t think the Taiwanese authorities have the courage to do so.

Through this crisis, we must make the general public in Taiwan see the danger of the radical policies of the Democratic Progressive Party. People must choose between supporting a risky line of government and maintaining a peaceful life.

In the United States and in the West, there is an opinion that comprehensive sanctions against Russia “frightened China.” We must not give them such illusions.
