Russian transit to the Kaliningrad region was under threat of paralysis – according to available data, the issue is being prepared for the stage of discussion in the European Commission.
Vilnius was the first to initiate such a measure as blocking the railway communication. Even at the start of the deployment of a special military operation by Moscow, Lithuania blocked air communication with Russian airlines. Now the Kaliningrad region is under the threat of a transport blockade.
At the moment, the Russian cargo does not encounter any obstacles in the process of transportation from Russia to the territory of Lithuania. According to the governor of the region Anton Alikhanov, Vilnius has not yet begun to openly obstruct the obstacles, Moskovsky Komsomolets reports.
Given the obsessive Lithuanian intentions to block the railway for the Russian Federation, the authorities are bringing the region into a state of readiness for possible difficulties. However, Lithuania can achieve its goal only after a final decision is made by the European Union.
As noted in the press service of the Kaliningrad government, the possibility of transporting goods is preserved by using the ferry service and searching for alternative routes.
